Question about Language Arts box and CTC

Post by LynnH » Tue Jan 19, 2010 11:25 am

I am starting to think about next year when we will be using CTC. We don't use Rod and Staff. Right now I am using Growing with Grammar and we may be switching to CLE. I see that grammar is only scheduled 2x's a week. My question is, does anyone do grammar more than 2 x's a week that is using CTC? I will need to do that in order to get through either program I am considering, but I don't want to overload my ds. We will do Write with the Best.

We do R&S Grammar daily and also the Write with the Best (as scheduled). If Write with the Best is a heavy writing day then we'll skip R&S but that is usually only once or twice during a Write with the Best unit. Not necessary to do the grammar daily but my daughter enjoys it.

Well, we do English at least 3 days a week (as requested by my husband) and usually 4....however, my dd just moved into R&S 3 today, and once she catches up (we're about 8 'behind') I plan to have her do a lesson only when the guide schedules it, unless it's fewer than 3 days a week. My son is in CTC and is also doing at least 3 days a week. We would probably only do whatever the guide schedules if my husband didn't have strong preferences...want to make him feel good about their learning, so we try to please him however we can.
