Hi Everyone!
I have arrived in the freezing (literally) state of IA!! I am soooo cold!!! But, God is good, and I am sure that I will warm up soon! Anywho, I am working on getting back into the swing of things again, filing my paperwork, and wondered if there is anyone from IA that could direct me as to what I should write on my Plan of Instruction form, for using Beyond? I have to turn this in soon to the school district, and wanted to know if I need to list all the Emerging Reader books and Storytime books.
Thanks!!
LeAnna

Welcome to Iowa! Are you enjoying the snow?? I know it is still cold here today, but I think we are supposed to warm up a little later this week and get more snow.
This is my first year of using HOD, but my 5th year of h'schooling so when I fill out my CPI form, I use the lined Plan of Instruction form found on NICHE's website. Have you been there yet? If you haven't, you can find it at http://www.homeschooliowa.org and the form is found under Resources. I am not sure what Beyond is like, but my oldest is using CTC and my younger boys are using LHFHG. Because you are only required to teach Math, Language Arts and Reading at the younger ages, I just listed the Math I was using and said I would follow the order recommended by the curriculum. With Reading, I said we would choose books appropriate to their reading levels. I have never given the full list of books we would be reading. For LA, I put down the grammar I was using for them and that I would be following the order recommended by the curriculum. That is all the info I gave them as I understand it is best to give them the basics. My oldest is using Voyages in English and my younger ones are in First Language Lessons.
I hope this helps a little and if you want more info, please let me know!

Welcome to Iowa!! I hope you enjoy living here. Cold weather, warm hearts. We follow the same form from NICHE and list math book, heart of dakota for language arts/reading/writing/history/science, and Rod and Staff for Grammar. I'm also pretty vague on the form. The homeschool conference is in June and info. is on the same site. Heart of Dakota usually has a booth there and it's really fun to talk with them in person. Carrie and her sister Julie are lovely people! We have found the conference very encouraging and worthwhile.

Thanks! So, if I just write Heart of Dakota under catagories, Reading, LA... that's all that is needed? Would I need to write Heart of Dakota- Beyond Hearts For His Glory- and author? Would I be okay to just write Heart of Dakota, only, under each catagory. I just want to give the basics, but want to make sure that I give enough too. I plan to use it throughout the following year too, does that make a difference?
Thanks!
