Excited to NOT do HOD today!

We LOVE HOD!!!!!! However, we do find that it is a very full day just as it is, especially with the additional outside activities we do. I wasn't finding time to work in the nature study, artist and composer study, and drawing lessons we so much want to do. So, we decided that every other Friday would be a different kind of school day. My ds is so excited to do these other things. It will be a nice break from our regular workload and taste some of the finer things in life. We are looking forward to a VERY CM kind of day!

We take a week off from HOD every once in a while. We are trying to enjoy the few warm days we might have left. We have been doing a nature study on deer and that has been fun for a change.

I look forward to nexxt year when my older son does Preparing and we have a 4 day a week schedule! LOL However, the manual is laid out so well that we can skip a day if we need to and pick back up right where we left off.

I'm with ya! WE LOVED, loved, LOVED our first week of Beyond (running it on a 4 day week as well) Preparing and CTC but today is Flap Jack Friday (yummy whole wheat pancakes with fresh ground flour), art,some fun Bible devotion and reading, health and SEWING! YEAH! But gotta say I am also excited to start a new week as well. I love the work hard for four days and then on Friday I sleep in a bit. It's wonderful. I'll figure out later how I am going to do Bigger this way too, hahaha!

I think your plan sounds great! Mixing things up for our kids a bit helps keep things fresh and new. Every other Friday we do some sort of a family field trip. On the other Friday I try to do things we haven't fit in during the week. Like extra art, nature study, cooking, etc. I know I enjoy those days, too.

We are actually taking a few weeks off to enjoy the cool weather that has finally showed up!!

We are taking a little break, too. We've had six great weeks of HOD. But perfect weather cannot be passed by! We've been playing, playing, playing! Dh's fall break is next week, so we'll take it easy next week, too, and enjoy lots of daddy time. I am loving hs and loving HOD.

We do love a 4-day week too, whenever possible. It helps recharge my batteries too.
