New and ordering LHTH

Post by Calming Tea » Sat Feb 23, 2008 4:02 pm

HI,

I'm new here and have decided to use Little Hands to Heaven with my little girl next year. She'll be four, going on five. She's really at the end of the age range for LHTH and though she's bright, I've prayed a lot over this and feel I'm making the right decision to use Little Hands instaed of Little Hearts.

I am going to have to save up and buy gift certificates toward curriculum. I asked Carrie if there's any way to buy gift certificates or send money to them, so I hope to get a response on that soon.

If not, I'll begin buying gift certificates to CBD. I hope to buy about 20/mo worth of gift certificates for five months and that should give me about the 80.00 I need to get LHTH and the other things I need for it.

So I hope to join you all next year in this adventure! My older son will be doing another program, but I hope to keep my dd in HOD products for a minimum of two years, for pre-K and K. I'm really excited as I feel this is designed just for us!

Calming Tea,

Welcome, so glad to have you here! We are also using LHTH and it is truly a wonderful program! I hope you will enjoy it as much as we do. I was eager to begin Little Hearts instead of Little Hands with my 4 year old, and much like you, I knew in my heart that Little Hands is where we should be. Knowing I made the right choice is obvious to me daily as I see my daughter gain so much from this program.

I just wanted to encourage you to move your post over to the "main board" as this is where all new posts begin and it's where everyone will be able to view your post and jump in to welcome you. :D

looking forward to getting to know you!

Candice

Calming Tea,

Welcome! So glad you're here! :D I'll move your post over the main board as most moms only read the main board. The folder for "Little Hands..." is for testimonial, share-you-experience type posts.

Blessings,
Carrie

Calming Tea,
Welcome!! We are most of the way through LHTH with our son who turned 5 last month (I have to update my tag). We have loved this program! I was a little worried when I ordered because he, like your daughter, was at the upper age for it, but it has been perfect for him. He loves the bible stories. We have to act out every story now. It pretty humorous sometimes. My one year old was unwillingly baby Jesus a couple of weeks ago. He also enjoys the other activities - fingerplays, music and learning his letters and sounds. For us, it has been a fun intro to homeschooling.

Again, welcome and I think you and your daughter are going to really enjoy this program!

Calming Tea - So glad you are here! We've used LHTH several times and will again with our third son in a few years. You are in for a real treat. I think it's wonderful to begin with LHTH if you can. It lays the groundwork for LHFHG so well, and it is just a whole lot of FUN! My boys really thought school was a blast after doing LHTH, and they were very confident they were good at school. That's the kind of impression I wanted them to have as we began homeschool, and I know your dd will enjoy it just as much! Keep on posting here, we love to keep are "family" growing here!
Blessings,

I hope I'm not the only one who doesn't understand this, but what are "gift certificates" :?: Is it like a layaway plan??

I'll just pop in to say that Heart of Dakota doesn't do gift certificates toward curriculum, but we do accept Visa, Discover, Mastercard, check, cash, or money order. It does sound like a neat idea, but at this point we don't have a plan in place for that!

Congrats on your choice. We just started it with my 4 yr old DD and she asks for more every day. I think you'll be happy using this program.

Instead of gift certificates, could you just put that money in an envelope until you have enough to buy? Then you could buy from where ever you want. Also as a savings, we only ordered the guide and songs CD. We just use our own Bible for the Bible stories. (Or an one of a dozen Bible story books we own.) I don't feel like I'm missing out on anything.

I am just going to buy the Guide, and CD, and ABC Verses. We already have a lot of wonderful Bible story books.
