Where is dictation scheduled in Preparing?

Post by Michelle »

Hi!
I think I have a really silly question here, but here goes! We have just finished our first Unit in PHFHG and we haven't gotten to dictation yet. Are we supposed to just add it into the Language Arts part of our day? If so, do we do it every day?
Thanks! Michelle :)

I believe it is scheduled into the plan in the Language Arts box, starting in unit 4.
16yo DD using US History 1 for 11th grade
14yo DS using World Geography for 9th grade
13yo DS using Rev to Rev for 7th grade
10yo DD using Creation to Christ for 5th grade
8yo DD using Bigger for 3rd grade
7yo DD using Beyond Hearts for 2nd grade

Michelle,

It's the first thing listed in the Language Arts box on days 1,3,and 4 of every unit. And it does start during the first unit. So, you can just pick it up this week and do it. There are directions on how to do dicatation in the appendix right before the passages. I was new to dictation last year, and found these to be very helpful.

Not a silly question at all. We are in our 2nd week of Preparing and I actually missed the dication the entire first week also.
