Thanks to all of you who helped out with the week's assignments. When I get back, I am going to hug ALL of my manuals. LOL I should've brought everything with me, but this trip wasn't supposed to have gone so badly.
I also appreciate all the sweet messages of support. I only visit these boards every now and then, but have always found it very warm and inviting.
We should be able to get through the next week but I am definitely looking forward to getting back home to my manuals and the other materials.
As a sidenote, I've proven that HOD is very transportable and doable even when dealing with a family crisis and needing to travel over 600 miles from home. The children were able to do some school in the car, at the hospital, at the house, etc.
Thank you to all who helped :)

AboveRubiesMama,
I am glad that you are home and that your manuals are back in hand! I'll pray for the Lord to be near to you as you re-enter your life at home.
Blessings,
Carrie

It was a great feeling tonight when my oldest dd finished reading the Benjamin West book. Even amongst so much adversity around us, she lit up and told everyone about it and how it was the best book she's ever read! I'm looking forward to getting back into the swing of things and moving on to the next book selection.
My grandmother has been moved out of ICU and into Isolation. She's never met the baby and we were planning this trip so she could see him for the first time. It was meant to be a surprise. If only we'd made the journey two weeks ago or something. Just the fact that she's been moved out of ICU is a miracle.
Gotta go get some little angels to sleep. Thanks again, Carrie, for creating such a doable program. My oldest dd told me that she's loving this year and that "it's so much better than last year." It's a different approach (we used a traditional approach the last couple of years) and admittedly, there are days when I wonder if the children are really gaining knowledge and then we have experiences such as tonight when she rand around excitedly explaining what a Biography is or when we visited the early American historical museum (which just so happened to be by the hospital), ran to all of the exhibits explaining to us what each thing was--she remembered them from her history books.

I'm so glad you are headed home and will be able to have what you need at your fingertips. The ladies on this board are truly special - they have big hearts! That's great that you were able to do HOD as much as possible while you were gone. Benjamin West was one of my ds's favorites too. It sounds like your dd's set to be a historical museum tour guide. I've also found our dc have the best retention with HOD (as compared to other things we've done). Anyway, welcome home, and praying for your grandma!
