I love DITHR - my BA is in English and I have read so much literature in my life, it isn't funny. It is no surprise that DITHR is one of my favorite parts of the day.

Rebecca,In the beginning, I figured that I would leave the reading to my son and just discuss the pages with him when needed. However, I found that I really didn't know what was going on in the book...so I started reading his assigned pages at night.
Absolutely, yes! My son is just starting his 1st year in DITHR, but he is in 5th grade, so we are using the 4/5 guide. It is not "easy" and really requires a lot of thought in some areas. I have found that, by reading the books, when my son gets stuck and can't really think of - say, and example of a certain character trait - I am right there to jump in and remind him and get him thinking again. If I were not familiar with the book, I couldn't do that nearly as well.3musketeers wrote:Have you found the DITHOR discussions fuller now that you are reading the book along side your dc?
