Another newbie done with the first day

Post by mom2koh » Mon Aug 03, 2009 7:09 pm

We got Beyond at the Atlanta conference this past weekend. I really enjoyed talking to Carrie and it never dawned on me that I was talking to the author of the program!

Even though we have to wait for our manual to be shipped we printed the first week from the website and delved in. I have had school scheduled to start today for a while now (it's when DD's friends all go to school as well). I even found someone to give me the spelling words and poem so we have a complete week! Woo Hoo.

DD had so much fun today. She even has the Bible verse memorized! Yippee. I love it since she hates going to bed by herself. We reviewed the verse at bedtime tonight and she did beautifully. She also loved the history book and wanted to read more. She re-named the poem of "The Storm" to "God's Storm".

We are using diff. math and science since I had previously purchsed those items. But it all meshed well and the first day went without a hitch.

Thanks for this wonderful program and we are so excitied about the school year!!

Amy,

It's nice to meet you! :D Sounds like you had a great 1st day! I can actually picture where all you Atlanta gals are. My sister lived there for a few years, and I was able to visit 3 times. Last summer I even drove there with the kids by myself! We never got lost and slid right along with the traffic. (Which is something to say for this minivan mom from the middle of nowhere in RURAL Kansas! Traffic here is when you can see a car coming a ways down the highway...)
