I'm finally sold on DITHR

Post by threegreatkids » Thu Jul 30, 2009 4:33 pm

I just listened to a recorded talk that Carrie did about DITHR at a convention. (Thanks, Julie, for suggesting it when I asked if there were any conference CDs available.) I've been on the fence for next year, knowing that we're making so many changes already...starting HOD, starting 2 complete programs, Rod & Staff, etc. I have the DITHR book and workbooks, but thought we might wait a year.
BUT...after listening I get it!!! I see the value in reading different genres, in thoughtful/careful reading of certain books, in pausing before starting the next one (by doing a project) instead of just plowing through book after book.
I've been thinking that since my girls are both good readers and love to read that I really just needed to make sure they had enough books. Now I really see the value in going deeper through DITHR. It will be well worth fitting it into our daily schedule!
I'm excited :D

I just googled "NICHE Des Moines Iowa" to get the website for that conference. Then you can click on something to purchase CDs from the 2009 conference, which allows you to print an order form and mail it in. I couldn't figure out a way to place an online order.
