Dictation Question

Post by kimsclan » Mon Jul 20, 2009 12:42 pm

Here I am again! Lots of questions today. I am getting so excited to start soon. So, as I am perusing the Teacher's Manual ( I haven't yet started HOD and have very little experience with dictation), I am a little foggy on the procedure for dictation. If the student has errors in the dictation passage, are we to try again tomorrow or do we just try again on the next scheduled dictation session?

Thanks for your replies,

Kim

Hi Kim! :D If your child has errors, he should try it again the next scheduled dictation time. Dictation is scheduled 3 of the 4 days of plans. Of course, if he has errors and the next day is not a dictation day in the plans - and you'd like for him to try it again that day anyway - you can certainly have him do it that day. There are instructions for how to do dictation in the Appendix right before the start of the Dictation Passages that helped me get started on it right. If you haven't come across those yet - they're very helpful.
