HOD chart

Post by gotpeace91 »

Here is a chart I made so we can see our progress. (I'm trying not to write in our manual) :D

That's really nice! Such a good idea! What I'm doing to keep track is just getting an ordinary blank calendar and writing the Unit and Lesson we did on it and anything else (math since we're in a different place for it, phonics lesson, piano, Spanish, etc) that we did for the day. I like your chart though. Very organized!
Momma to my 4 sweeties:
DD 14 - MTMM and DITHOR (completed LHFHG, Beyond, Bigger, Preparing, CTC, took a couple years off, and now she's back!)
DS 11 and DD 9 - Preparing(completed 2 rounds of LHTH, LHFHG, Beyond, and Bigger)
DD 6 - LHFHG

Thanks Ladies! Just gotta have a chart. Gives me such a feeling of accomplishment to see those little boxes getting filled up! :D

I love charts, and yours turned out so cute! :D It is fun to check off things, isn't it? Whether it's the guide's boxes or a chart, checking off boxes gives a sense of accomplishment. Have you ever added something you've already done to your "to do" list, just so you can check it off? I have done that before - that's how much I love checking off things. We have started writing in our guides now (after a few years of not writing in guides). That works well too. Thanks for sharing your chart, as I believe that organizational ideas can be the springboard for others to find their best way to get organized as well! :D

Haha I've done that! I was afraid I was the only one.  That cracked me up!

I love your chart! I made something similar although not with all the pretty pictures, and it's so fulfilling to check off the boxes each day! I love how it helps keep me on task and not feel overwhelmed.

Yes! I have done that!  But I truly never would have guessed anyone else would do that. HaHa I love finding kindred spirits on here. :)
I am dying to check off the boxes in the guide so I won't guarantee that my resolve will hold up the whole year but we'll see. Being able to get a little money out of it at the end might smooth over the purchase of CTC with my dh next year.

Another confession from a laughing box-checker.

I also make my check marks in the guide. Each child is going to get their own color. Grant was orange. Allison will be pink... :D
Homeschooling mom to 6:
Grant - 19 Kansas State University
Allison - 15 World Geography
Garret - 13 Res2Ref
Asa - 8 Bigger
Quinn - 7 Bigger

Halle - 4 LHTH
