Preparing Hearts Kay Arthur Bible Study question

I noticed that this is no longer included in the Preparing Hearts packages. Is it still going to be included in the program?
Also, is this a good resource for third grade or is it better for fourth?

I think Carrie said they decided to include the Bible in the manual like it is in previous editions. She said that it would instead be a Psalm study that would actually be part of the program. That is my understanding. HTH

water2wine did a great job of answering your question.

I did replace the Kay Arthur study with a Psalm study in "Preparing...". We decided that if we truly wanted Bible to be integrated throughout everyone's day, we needed to just write the study into the guide instead of requiring moms to purchase an additional resource. Otherwise, it would be too easy to "lift out" the Bible portion for those who may be short of finances.

The Kay Arthur Genesis study is a good one, so I had a hard time letting go of it, but it also would require quite a bit of help and interaction from the parent to complete and did require a bit of writing (which we also didn't want to be a barrier to Bible study for some writing-phobic kiddos).

If you looked at it and loved it, it would be easy enough to add in and do slowly over the course of the year.

I did want to mention that we have looked over all of the Kay Arthur Inductive Studies 4 Kids and have found some that have quite mature content in them and others that are quite difficult for the younger span of the listed age levels (ages 8-12). I believe the Jonah study looks the easiest and then the Genesis Study would be next easiest. A few are somewhat worldly in their themes (secret agents, movies, etc.) At the 3rd/4th grade level the kiddos wouldn't be able to complete them on their own. It would definitely require help from you to complete!

That makes perfect sense...
I had recently read a discussion that also stated they can require quite a bit of parental interaction.
Also, thank you so much for your feedback on other studies. I appreciate it!

I just wanted to add another thanks to Water2Wine and say I will soon have six children too! And I am considering using Little Hearts and Bigger Hearts next year!

Just saw this. Congratulations. You will love having six. I think the only thing better than having six would be having more!

Seriously though six is wonderful and I am so excited for my kids later in life. They are building great friendships with each other and we are painting in their head a lifetime of being together and having cousins play together. For us it has been a chance really to build a whole new generation of family all who are growing up learning about the Lord and building deep friendships homeschooling together.

I started out with three and then five months later had four, and then had two years with four. We have loved having six. There is something about that number that rounds everything out. They always have someone to play with and they seem to entertain themselves better. Plus it is just load of fun. You will love it!

Glad to hear a thumbs up on the Bible study change! It is so hard to know what is best for each area of our guides.... but over time through much prayer the Lord is good about showing us HIS way for each area. Gratefully, when we get it right the Lord gives us a peace about the decision, until then whenever we are unsettled, we keep looking and tweaking!
