Question about boxes in each guide............

Good morning ladies! I have a question about the boxes in each guide. I am going to be beginning LHFHG for my daughter for kindergarten in August. Is there a certain order that is best to do with the boxes each day? Or is it designed to go left to right, and then top to bottom? Or left page, then right page? I just wondered how everyone was doing this? Thanks so much!

You can complete the boxes in any order! That is one of the "beauties" of HOD. I personally go in order, left page top to bottom, then right page top to bottom. But that is just me! I know some moms do math first, others do reading first and still others start with Bible study.
As you get more and more involved with the curriculum you will find what works for you and your child.

There is a tremendous amount flexibility with this program which was great with our littlest one because you never know what will happen and things have to suddenly be "rearranged". We usually tried to start with Bible which I found could be done with breakfast, sometimes, and was more often than not one of the best ways to start our day. And if everything else didn't get done in the day, I felt like that the most important had .

HOD is so flexible, you can put the boxes in any order your heart desires! I do think it's a good idea to keep the left page together, because that is all linked together with the history theme. We usually start the day with something independent, like Fine Motor Skills in LHFHG. (This let's me get my older son and toddler going on their things.) Then, we do the left side, starting with marching around singing the Corresponding Music together. Next, we do the Bible Study, since we just sang it together, this helps my ds memorize it easily, and then we do the Rhymes in Motion to get moving and set a happy tone for the history reading coming up. Next, comes the Reading about History box and then we finish out with the last box on the left side (which rotates, but is usually active.) Then, we take a play break (he plays with toddler so I can work with older ds), and after about 30 minutes, next, we do Phonics and then Storytime on the couch together, and last we finish out with Math. It's very flexible, so I shared this just to give you an example! Enjoy LHFHG, it is great fun for both parent and child!

For LHFHG we did the left side together and in order presented satrting with history and going down and then back to the top for the other boxes. For the right side we did not always follow the box order, but usually we did, so that I wouldn't forget anything.

We do whatever order is better for ds. And it changes every once in awhile. I like to start with the history reading while we eat breakfast, then we do spelling, story time, copywork, activity (history/art/science), math. DS does his reading whenever it fits in. Some days if we are having a tough time getting started we'll start with the activity.
