That is really neat. I like the way you are having your older start more independent work. Mine would love a system like that.

Neat! I love charts, too :)
Am I remembering that a few days ago you were concerned about falling behind in schoolwork? It sounds like your dd is quite ahead of the game to be doing so many things independently as a young 3rd grader. Hope you are feeling better and feeling good about your new plan!

I'm still worried about that! She's not that independent yet, but we're working on it. My goal is to have her doing it independent b/c the show must go on even when mom is busy with a new baby or teaching the K'er or rounding up the toddler!

That's so neat. Thanks for sharing that! They remind me of a "ticket" chart I did a while back. It worked well! I should get back to using that!

Thanks for the compliments

It's been great so far...we get done with what we can and don't refill it until we've complete all the "must-haves". If we don't get to any extras (and we won't for a while), that's fine. So long as we get our basics done, and all the integrated stuff done before adding the next history reading, only then do we fill it back up. So, we did a most of the "I" work yesterday and only a little of the "S" and "M"...so today, we just finished those-- and that's it. Tomorrow is a new day and we'll start with a full chart.

I haven't started with the K'er yet and will add him in once we get DD going smoothly first. She is ENJOYING her independent work...even the R&S grammar 3! I'm amazed! She's a young rising 3rd grader and totally gets the grammar lessons. I'm am very proud of her. Now...we just have to cut down our time on math (money! :? ) and we'll be getting much more done! I'm so excited! I'm also pretty much over the morning sickness, fatigue is bad-- but not as bad, and allergies are under control...now I have to wean off heart meds and get over the "rebound symptoms" over 3-4 days and I should be ready to go!

Yeah, this got wordy...I'm just way excited about this system! I'm thinking I might help her out with workboxes too b/c so much time is lost when she is trying to gather what she needs. She knows, but loses focus. Now, I'm off to search about that!
