Got my box!!

Post by Sheila in OK » Sun May 17, 2009 4:15 pm

Hi everyone,
I got my box over the weekend. I had ordered the Bigger economy package, DITHOR for Levels 2/3 and 4/5, and the devotional. It all looks SO AWESOME! I'm really excited about Bigger. I think by using the extensions, along with Math and LA at her level, it will be plenty for my dd. And it looks like the spelling and math will be perfect 'as is' for my 3rd grader.

However, I must confess at being a bit nervous about DITHOR. It looks great but a little overwhelming, since it's so much MORE than we have ever done with reading (we've never done any type of reading program, just read lots of books). I have the whole summer to figure out it, though 8) so hopefully I'll be feeling more confident by then.

Anyway, just wanted to share. :D

Hooray! Have fun going through your box of goodies! :D Just read the introduction to DITHOR, have the books ready you want your dc to read, and skim through the first week of plans - you'll be set. Once you do it, you'll move through it just like clockwork. I even do the kickoffs and end of the month projects on the fly now - I'm not even planning ahead for those. No worries - once you start, you'll just be clicking along. :)

Oh ladies! I'm so happy you have your boxes in hand! :D How fun and exciting to go through them.

Sheila,

DITHR looks more overwhelming than it actually is. Just make a plan to do it 3 days a week, choose a genre and the books for that genre, and jump in. :D

Blessings,
Carrie

Thanks ladies!
I appreciate the encouragement. :) I do think DITHOR is going to be awesome--we have been kind of relaxed around here when it comes to reading and it is definitely time to step it up a notch. I'm so glad I got the suggested book list to go with it--it is wonderful, and I know it is going to make implementing DITHOR much easier for me!
