GREAT past two days with Beyond!

Post by momofone » Wed May 06, 2009 9:48 pm

I was saving this for the week in review thread, but just had to post that we've started Beyond and we have had a ball with it! :D
We had no tears, whining or complaining! :D That's an accomplishment for us!
My son played for the longest with his "index" card boat in the bathtub! He said "this is a fun curriculum". :D
He also made the comment, "whatever the book says, just do it". I was amazed!
God is soooo good!!! + + +

Welcome aboard!! So glad to hear that your first couple of days went well. We are just finishing up LHFHG and I'm in the planning stages for next year using Beyond and I can't wait. :D I'm sure you will have many good days ahead.

momofone,

HOORAY! I'm so glad you've had a great couple of days with Beyond. :D I had a good laugh about your son's comment on doing what was in the guide. That is so precious! :D

Thanks for sharing! We'll look forward to hearing all about it on the weekly check-in! :D

Blessings,
Carrie

We have had a good week, but I'm gonna wait and do the week check in next week because we didn't actually finish a whole week yet. The co-op we've been in had a big sale on Thursday and it's been a little hectic, to say the least!
However, what we did get in has gone over well! :D My son can say the funniest things at times.

One thing I do want to add is something a little "bittersweet". Ds does not understand when we do something creative that it really is "school". He keeps saying, let's move on and do the "work" so we can get school over with! It's kind of like, he thinks we're just playing around and not getting down to business, ha!
I guess it's just going to take some time for him to adjust to more hands on and a little less textbooks.
Anyway, I am looking forward to next week! :D

Tina - I'm so glad your first week went well! :D That's too cute that your ds thinks he needs to be "all business" in school. You'll have to tell him that HOD makes learning fun as much as possible, AND it also doesn't take long to do either. That will really throw him for a loop! :) Seriously, though, he'll grow into the creative side of it, and then he'll be wishing for more of it the more rigorous school gets. :D Have a great second week of homeschooling!
