If I go with Bigger Hearts for my 7 and 9 yr old, the packages lists Rod and Staff Building English... then it says underneath teacher addition add additional..... do I assume i Don't need the teachers addition but if I choose to get it...??? ALso, if my older dd does the extension pack, should I Get her the rod and staff for her grade level?

I dont' start using the TM for R&S until Book 3. You can easily get by without it in 2. I've asked about this before as well, and I heard from many, many of the ladies that you don't HAVE to have the TM in 3, but the review and helps it provides is great to have. It also provides all the answers right there...all you need for each lesson is right there with that lesson...a review, a lesson, copy of student book pages, answers. I used it in 2 when we did R&S a couple years ago and didn't need it, but enjoyed having it so she could have her book and I could have mine and do lessons even if I was up cooking or folding laundry.

Brenda,

I agree that the Teacher's Manual for Rod and Staff English 2 is not necessary. However, your older child would most likely need her own level of Rod and Staff grammar, and we've found that from English 3 on up the Teacher's Manual is very helpful. It has a complete key each day and includes 5 oral drill questions each day that really help kiddos remember the concepts. :)

Blessings,
Carrie
