Went to a hs conference today and was NOT tempted!

Post by momontheprairie » Sat May 02, 2009 10:11 pm

I have a history of severe implusivecurriculumitis. Today I just looked around and the only thing I purchased were books I know are used with HOD, like Christian Liberty history and science books. I was so proud that I was not tempted by all of the intense sales pictches that I sometimes received.

I really love having all of my day's work (except the latin we tack on) all on one page! :D It is so nice to not be flipping here and there for language arts and science, and then another place for history and math. :? That used to drive me crazy because I had check boxes on pages everywhere. I just love HOD's easy lay out.

Anyway, this was a major victory for me and it is a true sign that HOD is something that will stick for the long haul in our house.

Thank you Heart of Dakota!

Carrie - that's great! :D I'm so very proud of you. I do believe you are an inspiration to those suffering from "implusivecurriculumitis" everywhere! I'm completely taken with HOD's simple layout and deep plans too. It's a joy to feel at peace with homeschooling.

Good job! The same thing happened to me. I even ended up leaving a little early  so I could go home and look at my HOD purchase!

Me, too! We went to a conference this past week-end and I only purchased fun, supplemental products or things that I wanted to go along with Bigger Hearts next year. Queen Homeschool Supplies and Simply Charlotte Mason were both there. Normally, I would have went nuts and over purchased from one or both of them! I even attended several workshops, something I rarely do because I'm always hanging out with the vendors and thus missing the speakers.

I'm so glad I found HOD before this year's conferences.

Ladies,

I'm thrilled to hear that you are happy with HOD and with the layout of our guides. :D We're happy HOD users here too, and it is such a blessing to me to be able to pull out my guides and be ready to go for my kiddos each day.

On our second time through our guides, I am finding such peace in knowing our bases are covered and in knowing where my kiddos are headed. I'm so glad to hear that you're feeling the same way. :D

Thanks for sharing!

Blessings,
Carrie
