Dithor looks a bit advanced if the level 2 is supposed to be grade 2. I'm basing this off of my kids reading ability and the recommended reading levels that are shown. Would you typically use level2/3 for a 3rd and 4th grader?

Is DITHOR levels same as grades?
Re: Is DITHOR levels same as grades?
Alison, I replied on the other forum (I'm i.love.lucy). I think you can still use 2/3 for a 2nd grader even if the specified books seem a little tough. When you see the book list that comes with the program, there are 100's of titles, so it's really easy to move your kiddos up or down depending on their reading needs.

Re: Is DITHOR levels same as grades?
It just depends what books you choose. If you are looking at the Level 2 Book pack for DITHOR, the books range from a 3.0 - 4.1 reading level. The Level 3 Book Pack ranges from Level 3.5 - 5.1. We always pick books slightly below our dc's reading level so that we can focus on all of the other great DITHOR skills that are new to our dc, but that's just what we do. If the Level 2 Book Pack looks too hard, that's not a sure-fire indicator that DITHOR will be too hard. We started with easier books off the Sample Book Ideas list, and I did some of the writing for my ds at first in his Student Book. That worked great to begin with for us.
