We are in Beyond and my boys are pushing me to at least finish the chapter but this makes us finish the book before the time is up. I was thinking this is ok, the chapters aren't very long. Then I would just read another book from the same genre, this way we are in the right genre the amount of time the manual says. Any feedback on this would be greatly appreciated. We are starting Unit 29 tomorrow and reading Mountain Born

Yes, I'd say it is fine. We have done that before too if the book we picked had short chapters. Then there have been times when it's a long book, that we couldn't finish in it 20 days (little House books). We would just start the book from the new genre and keep plugging away on the one from the last genre until we finished it.

We have also done this and it worked great for us. We also stuck with the same genre. I think as long as you do that it will work great. Enjoy!

I agree that you can choose the pacing that fits best for you with the Storytime part of Beyond. Just add another book from that same genre to finish it out.
