Congrats! I had the exact same issues with my pregnancies! Cerclage, weekly shots, bed rest, etc., but in the end the Lord has given us 5 wonderful blessing! I will definitely be praying for you!

Julie,

It is so encouraging to hear you have had 5 babies with the stitch. This is our 3rd pregnancy with it (Our first was fine...then with my second pregnancy my cervix started to shorten at 19 weeks... and it was all very "emergency" after that...operation the next day, bedrest etc) I sometimes feel a bit anxious going through it all again, but we really wanted another baby. So I try to "cast my anxieties on the Lord" Sometimes I am pretty good at this, and sometimes not so good, and find my self worrying a lot. I think this worry in my second pregancy ended up leading to a little bit of depression, and I have been feeling that creeping up on me sometimes with this pregnancy already (could also be those 1st trimester hormones!!) So I really appreciate everyone prayers, particularly with wisdom with my other children, as I am limited to what I can do with them, due to having to "rest" ....bit tricky with 3 little ones!!

Also I think the reason for me REALLY appreciating everyone here's excitment was that my own parents have been a bit dissapointed that we have decided to have another baby (they are not believers and have lots of different views on things to us...ie homeschooling, and having more children that can fit in a "normal" size car!!) So that has been a bit hard too.

So anyway, I did not mean to go on so much...but it does feel good to talk about it....Just really appreciate your prayers and support everyone :D :D :D

Congratulations, Deb! I also had a cerclage (as well as fibroids on my cervix). If anyone has an incompetent cervix, that sure would be me! :D Anyway, I want to encourage you through this pregnancy. The Lord will be with you every step of the way. I homeschooled using HOD through complete bedrest, the whole cerclage thing, through recovering from a c-section, and even through the aftermath of a surgery to remove my fibroids. You are going to be just fine! I believe the Lord speaks to each of us as to what the size of our family will be - not every family needs to fit in a car  , nor does every family need to make up a football team. One thing that helped me homeschool on bedrest is to have my dh make a sandwich lunch plate up for me the night before. That way I could just have one of my dc get it for me from the fridge. I also taught my oldest son to make simple lunches (hot dogs, mac & cheese, PB & J, etc.). I used my 15 minutes - out of every 4 hours  - that I could be up to shower and set all of the HOD books in a pile across the counter in order. Then, I just had the dc bring me their next pile while I homeschooled from the couch. It actually was pretty easy that way. You're already about a 1/3 of the way into this, you just have the last 2/3 to go, and then a little blessing will be part of your family. :D I'll be praying for you, and I'm so happy for you and your dh! :D

In Christ,
Julie :)
