I like to be able to give my 5 1/2 yr old ds a little computer time a couple of times a week...generally while I am making lunch. He is growing tired of the games we have so I am looking for some new ideas. Does anyone have names of favorite games their kids like. I prefer ones that have an educational spin to them...
Or a safe website of free game play would be fine as well.
Thanks for sharing

I'm a fan of webkins "quizzy's trivia" and "Goober got an A"
One stuffed animal gets you a year subscription. And you can put your kids in a mode where they can only use pre scripted things to say. So No one can say more than platitudes, and polite conversation. But as in any internet activity I would recommend he be supervised at all times while on the net.

Re: Computer Game ideas
We have Jump Start CD's that Katie likes to play. They put them out by grade level. There is also Reader Rabbit games that go by grade level. You can order a lot from freehomeschoolsoftware.com. You only need to pay shipping on that site.
We've also found some nice educational games on PSBkids.org. And I feel safe having Katie on that site. Of course, not all the games there are educational, but I feel that she should have some free fun time to do what she wants whether that's play dolls or a computer game.
