How I've Organized (link to pics!)

Post by Mom2Monkeys » Sat Mar 28, 2009 5:55 pm

I just wanted to share my recent accomplishment with organizing for school! I'm feeling rather proud of myself

You can follow the link to my blog and click on the post titled "Gettin' Organized". http://www.thomasschooldays.blogspot.com

There's also lots of recent pics of me and my family that you are welcome to browse through as well. :D

ETA: I forgot to mention that I also labled each book with it's genre. If it's from an HOD package, I put the genre, which guide and RA for read aloud and which set OR DITHOR level 2 or 3. That way they go back into the right box!

Tamara,

I love your school space! It's so neat and tidy and colorful! Ahh! (Now you're making me feel like I really shoulda cleaned my house today... )

I peeked at Ruthie - what I'm wondering is how you got a picture of that?!? We have 2 outside dogs (black labs) who love to steal pacifiers out of Garret's mouth as he walks to the van. He runs after the offending dog...who will only stop when Mom gets on him, and then drops the pacifier and sulks off.

It only looks like that b/c I took pics the moment I got done with it! And that's actually my dd's room. I have a two year old that loves to take ALL the books off the shelves...so we had to move the shelf out of the playroom (which is our dining room full of toys and no table  ). I gave up our REAL school space to have a playroom instead so I could keep the littles busy while doing lessons with the bigger. So, I just have that nearly organized bookshelf in dd's room and two cabinets I've set up in the LR. One day, I'll have a real school room that looks neat and tidy and fun just like the shelf on my blog....I can dream. LOL

Oh, and I was amazed to find my cat doing that and was so worried I wouldn't get a pic in time...I never got a good view, but you can tell what she's doing! She kept it up for nearly 20 minutes! She's a sweet and lovable cat, and does some of the goofiest things! My dog, like yours, steals things from the kids mouths, hands, toy boxes, etc...he's teething! A 60+ teething puppy is pretty intimidating so I can see why it's easy for him to steal from them!

I love it! (We need an applauding emoticon!)

That looks wonderful. I like how you've grouped them by genre. The baskets keep everything accessible and I love face-out storage for books - so much easier to flip through!

Great job. . .thanks for sharing your ideas. I always pick up a few good ideas when people share photos of their learning areas.
