I've been looking over the HOD web site for at least a year or two and have always wanted to give it a try since I discovered it. I've always been a workbook homeschooler and kind of leery of taking the plunge into something literature based because I'm so used to having graded tests and such. I was talking to my pastor's wife about this and she was the same way when she started homeschooling her oldest children and then she finally switched to literature based for her youngest two and loves it so much. So I took the plunge and purchased Little Hands to Heaven for my almost 3 year old and Bigger Hearts for His Glory to combine Science, History, and Bible with my will be 2nd and 4th graders. Little Hands arrived yesterday and I'm hoping Bigger gets here today. Looking over Little Hands has me so excited!!! Our church is transitioning into being a family integrated church and focusing more on families and the responsibilities of parents and my husband and I are so excited about this and HOD curriculum looks like the perfect tool to help me fulfill my responsibility in teaching my children about God and His Word. I can't wait to get started!!!

Amy,
I just wanted to pop-in and welcome you! We're glad to have you here.

You'll find the ladies on the board to be very gracious about answering questions and terrific at encouraging you (and each other) on your HOD homeschool journey.
We'll look forward to getting to know you even better and pray that you'll enjoy LHTH and Bigger Hearts as much as we have!
Blessings,
Carrie

Amy,
Welcome to HOD!

I bet you'll have just as wonderful of a year with Bigger and LHTH as we have this year! (I've had NO problem letting go of the text books here.

) HOD has been a wonderful tool in keeping our family's focus on the Lord and how He wants us to live! I'm sure you'll love this blessing, too!

I'm so glad you took the leap, Amy!

You are going to love Bigger Hearts and LHTH. We did Bigger Hearts (and LHFHG too) last year, and it was a great year!

I like the focus your church is taking. I think you will find HOD fills that need in a beautiful way. We feel a great responsibility to teach our dc about God too, and HOD is helping me to do that in a real way each and every day. Welcome to the HOD board, Amy!
In Christ,
Julie
