What if....it isn't ready?

Post by Daisy » Mon Mar 23, 2009 7:53 pm

Okay, I'm reluctant to even ask this but my hubby keeps asking. So is there any plan in place just in case the Ancients TM isn't ready the first week of August? I know the first week will be up in .pdf, so that gives a little wiggle room, but....

Daisy I would not at all worry. HOD has been really great about keeping their word. I believe it will be up for sure by the date they have quoted if not before. I will also be doing the Ancients Program. I probably will not be ready for it when you are but still that will put me waiting for their guides to be written in the future and I am not the least bit worried because I know their word is good. :D Now I guess that does not account for acts of God etc even if their word is good. But I trust that God has His hand on HOD and that in that He will carry us as well. I'm sure that they would appreciate your prayers though and I will join you in that.

I am not worried either. Carrie has always had her product out on time before. Mine is already pre-ordered.

I'm not at all trying to suggest that it would be negligence but rather...life happens, kwim? I hope my question doesn't offend because I really don't intend it to.

Daisy,

I know what you mean, Daisy, and it's a good question. Aren't the ladies on the board wonderful though about answering questions and giving reassurance! We are so blessed to have moms who will chime in and answer questions. :D

I will say that we have never missed a deadline with any of our previous 6 guides (including DITHR) and that we see this one coming in on schedule as well. However, if the unexpected did happen, we would email (by PDF) the necessary first set of units to everyone who pre-ordered so that they could start on time and continue without a break in their year. We are very motivated to have the book done, as we need it ourselves for our own son whose second in line.

Blessings,
Carrie

That's a great question to ask; a legitimate concern not giving offense at all.

I know for myself, this has been an issue with another curriculum provider. They were overwhelmed with orders when they had a jump in popularity and couldn't handle the volume. People weren't getting products in a timely manner at all, the quality of the materials seemed to be going down, etc. I no longer use them and was so sorry I had ever recommended them to others. This was several years ago, and maybe they've straightened out, I don't know. Naturally, we can understand that a company can have growing pains, yet none of us wants to be the one empty-handed when it's time to start our new school year.

All that to say, I can understand why you'd ask the question. As others have pointed out, HOD has a great track record in this area. This is a hard-working team. It'll all be good!

Thanks everyone. I just wanted to reassure my husband that all the bases were covered.

I completely understand! I like to be reassured too, and I like to know what the back-up plan is also.
