OT - Please pray for a house possibility!

This is completely off topic but we can use the prayers. When we moved last year we moved from our 3 bedroom, 2 bath house with a full basement to a small 2 bedroom apartment. We have been making do here but both of us are ready to be back in a house for a lot of reasons - space, privacy, a yard to play in!, no crazy neighbors right next door, etc. I talked to the owner this afternoon and from the sounds of it this house would be perfect! It is brand new, bigger than the house we moved from and has a full unfinished basement, 3 bedrooms (We could have a homeschool room if we wanted ), 2 car garage, big flat yard, nice neighborhood and it is only $30 more a month than our apartment!!! We would love to be able to get this house. Please pray that we will both love it when we go see it tonight and that we will be able to work out the details in getting out of our lease here. I think that we have to give 60 days notice to get out of our lease here and if we don't, we have to pay 2 months rent. It's doable since we just got our tax money back but it would really suck to have to pay double rent for the next few months. The owner said that because the house is new, they are still doing adding a few finishing touches, seeding the yard, getting appliances etc and it may not be ready for us to move in for a month or two. As much as I would love to move today, it would be awesome if the house isn't ready for another month or so because it would allow us to live here during our 60 day notice and not have to pay double rent. I'm rambling now so if you've read for this long thank you and I'll keep you all posted!

The guy had to cancel on us so we didn't get to see it yet. He was supposed to call me yesterday to reschedule, but he didn't. I left him a message late yesterday afternoon so hopefully he'll call today.

It's me again ...

I finally was able to talk to the owner about the house we wanted to rent. Evidently they had already had a couple of people look at the house and one of them paid their deposit and signed the lease yesterday. But, he called to let me know that he closed on another house in the same neighborhood yesterday afternoon. It is by the same builder so alot of the features are the same, but this one is evidently a little bigger. He is going to let us have first dibs at it and will give it to us for the same rent even though it's a bigger house which is awesome! He is going out of town for the weekend, but is going to meet us out there Monday evening to look at it. He's supposed to email me pictures this afternoon though so that will be good. DH and I drove out to the neighborhood just to see which house it was and from the outside it looks great! It's on a corner lot and it's a new subdivision so there are 2 empty lots between us and the next house on the street. With the market the way it is, I doubt they will be building anytime soon so we will have plenty of yard space for Samuel to run around. Right now we are just waiting till Monday to go meet with him. Unless there is something terribly wrong with the inside of the house (which I seriously doubt) we will be giving him our deposit then and hopefully moving by the end of the month.

I am just seeing this now. I know that the Lord has the PERFECT house picked out for you. I pray that this new one works out, if that be HIS will. I understand everything you are sharing. Before we bought our house (almost 11 years ago now) we lived in an 800 sq foot condo. We were homeschooling and wanting more children. This house is still smaller than my "dream", but it has been perfect because when we bought it the Lord had obviously gone before us. It's so hard to wait. I can't wait to hear what happens with this other possibility. (((BIg Understanding Hugs))))

We just got back from seeing the house and it is amazing! I'm so excited. The bedrooms are a little bit smaller than what we have now, but the rest of the space in the house makes up for it. Plus, we are never in our rooms except to sleep anyway. We went ahead and paid our deposit tonight and as long as our credit check comes back OK (which it should) we will be moving around the end of the month. We have to wait for them to put in the appliances, seed the yard, do some landscaping, and a couple of other things. Anyway, it should work out that we will only have 1 month of overlapping rent so that's not too bad. Here's a couple of pics of the house:

Front of the house - they are going to be planting some bushes and flowers so it should look better after that


Kitchen - it doesn't look that big but it has about twice the cabinet space as our apt. kitchen which will be great. And it has drawers! A man must have designed the kitchen in our apartment because it only has 1 drawer. Where do they think you are supposed to keep your utensils?


The dining/living room - this picture doesn't even do it justice. It is huge in person!
