HOD will always have a place in my heart!

Post by my4sugars » Tue Feb 24, 2009 10:13 pm

This is my first year homeschooling my 3 older children together as well as our first experience with HOD. I'll have to say that we have so thoroughly enjoyed the curriculum and the experiences we've gained this year with our children. There is one happening that I felt like I wanted to share. The Wednesday before Thanksgiving, we were schooling as usual. I was reading that day's Bible story, which was about the baptism of Jesus. (We are using LHFHG with the girls for K.) That story started my twin girls' minds turning that morning and they began asking questions about Jesus and His death and heaven and sin, etc. As the questions came, I was able to talk to Mary and Shannon about our need for Christ in our lives and each individual's need to make a decision to follow Him. That day, my girls stepped into a Heavenly relationship with Jesus and asked Him to be their Lord. Praying with them and being a part of that with them was the single most precious experience I have ever had as a mother, ouside of giving birth. My girls were born together, twice!

I can't begin to express my gratefulness and joy to you, Carrie and Julie, and your precious families. Your obedience and diligence in following God's heart in the creation of this curriculum is having such long-lasting results. My children made a kingdom choice because of your faithfulness, and I can only say thank you so much. Your treasure is surely expanding daily in the lives you are touching and the hearts you are touching in children and parents alike. I know I have been blessed.

I'm looking forward to your conference visit to Atlanta this July. My husband and I are going to make plans to come meet you and hug the necks of the people that have changed the lives of our family! :D

How wonderful! I am so happy for you and what a special memory. It seems that quite a few little ones become convicted out of using HOD the need to accept Jesus as Savior. That is so wonderful. Thank you for sharing with us your joyful story! :D

That touches my heart!!! What a beautiful way of saying an amazing thing that happened! You know, I always think that there is nothing more important than that. If we have the most academically gifted dc, but they do not have Jesus in their hearts, they still have a dismal future indeed. Nothing gives as bright of a future as walking with the Son in the Light! :D With HOD, I feel like I'm blessed to have both - academic and heart training. Thanks so much for your encouraging words here too, and I've saving up a big hug for you in Atlanta!

In Christ,
