Hi,
I'm posting under Susan. I live in Tulsa, OK and have 5 children. My oldest two are in college and the rest are 15, 13, and 8. I'm using BLHFHG with my 8 year old daughter. She loves everything about it. She is almost through reading The Beginner's Bible and keeps telling everyone, "I've almost finished reading the whole Bible!!!" She has had some eye tracking problems and I'm so thankful she is reading with ease now and loves the Bible. Oh, I've been homeschooling for 15 years and still loving it!

You're an encouragement to me, Susan! I hope I can say I'm still loving homeschooling after 15 years! My son had speech problems, and I still LOVE to hear him read now that he's able to do so clearly.

hello
My name is Christa and I have been homeschooling for 5 years now. We tried everything in our few short years with my older two boys and I am using Little Hands to Heaven with my 2 year old. I wish I had this when my two older boys were little. It is so beautiful and fun! Sometimes my 9 year old gets to be the 'teacher' which is neat too. I am using another curriculum with my older two boys but am so amazed at Carrie's talent that I am looking into it for next year for the older two too!! Great to meet all of you other mamas!!
Nice to meet you, Christa! Little Hands... is such a happy start to homeschooling. I've used it with 2 of my children, and they both began calling it "playschool". I had a friend whose child used to say "Hooray! It's time for "pretty school" in reference to Little Hands. I'm not sure how that came to be, but I think it is a "beautiful program", as you said, so I guess "pretty school" fits it too!

Note to self...
Always save the best for last. The wonderful current exploration activity in Unit 1 kept my kids (6 and 9) busy for 30 minutes. They didn't want to stop and do "real" school after the current experiment.
We are using the program BLH, this is the first time for any of the Heart of Dakota items. I have tried it all...and everything else seemed very overwhelming. I also purchased the DIHR program for my 4th grader. She is already excited about reading chapter books again- after being turned off from them by some other programs.
I can't wait to see what Carrie has in store for the future years. I am now planning on using Bigger next year along with the extension pack for my dd, who will then be in 5th grade. It's nice to have a simple layout to use, so even my "substitute teachers" can pick it up and go. I often have sick family members to tend to, and school can fall quickly behind. I am looking forward to the rest of this school year, and beyond!

Hi...I'm Ronda,
We haven't officially used any Heart of Dakota products yet, but hope to begin using BHFHG at the beginning of the year for my 4th & 2nd graders, and LHFHG for my 5 yo. We are currently finishing up the curriculum I had already purchased and I'm gathering supplies and getting ready! I've been reading all posts, but am particularly interested in reading about doing more than one program at a time!
I also have a 16 yo who plans to graduate this year and a 20 yo who graduated from 'homeschool high' 3 years ago. We've been homeschooling 13 years. I really wish I would have had HOD way back when these two were younger!!
Blessings,
Ronda

Hi -
I'm Debra. Live in Texas. I bought the Drawn into the Heart of Reading at the Arlington HS convention. Am trying to figure out how to use it. I am an excellent reader but not always a great teacher of reading. KWIM.
I am glad this board is up. I must confess I got a little frustrated and wanted to ask a bunch of questions back over the summer. I started looking for the yahoo group. Wasn't one - thanks Carrie for putting this board up.

Hi Debra!
It's nice to meet you! I am using DIHOR too, and have been for awhile. If you are an excellent reader, then DIHOR is right up your alley. You will love it once you get into a rhythm with it. If you have any questions, just fire them away on this board. Everyone is so helpful here! Glad you're here!

Hi!
I'm a first-time Heart of Dakota user, enjoying Bigger Hearts For His Glory with my two youngest daughters. Not only is the curriculum so easy to use for me and for them, but Carrie has been a blessing with useful advice even while I was only considering using BH.
Nice to meet you all!

Hi!
I am posting as Matt'sMom but my name is Durea. I posted for the first time tonight in response to Carrie's poll but I wanted to introduce myself here anyway. Although I refered to my self as Matt's mom I acually have three children, Toby, Teryn, and Matthew. Matthew is the youngest at eight years old and the only one I am still homeschooling. We are using BHFHG and it is the first HOD product we have used. I must say that we both love it and we are having a great year. I have told anyone who will listen how wonderful the curriculum is and also how helpful Carrie and Mike have been.

Hello Everyone,
My name is Laurie and I have 4 kids ages 18, 12, 4 and 1. Yes, quite a spread. It is fun, though. We live in MN and are looking forwarded to hiberating for the winter.
We are currently using Little Hands with our 4 year old. I have never homeschooled before, but our little guy is having a blast with it. This program is so easy to use I feel comfortable teaching him and watching him learn. We have pretty much decided to homeschool him next year, but are waiting so see how this year continues (Make sure Mom doesn't mess him up too much).
I look forward to meeting some of you and sharing experiences.
Laurie
