I have seven children and am pregnant. I understand not getting everything done. Your oldest is still young. I would just continue on the track you have begun with her. Bigger will be great, and not overwhelming. You have lots of years to get it all done. There is also a much better chance of getting around to time with the 5 year old is the eldest is in Bigger instead of Preparing. You could just continue with phonics and math for the five year old and read him books on his level at this point until finances and time become available. Also, just a sidenote, but have you considered that you might be adding too much to an already great program. That is often when I feel overwhelmed.

We're in an ice storm damage zone now, no power, no heat, no water, our trees are destroyed....no school either since we're having to stay in a small (and gross :? ) hotel for now. So, I don't have time to really go over all the info...but I do think we'll go ahead with Bigger. I'll just figure out the details for DD's independence and maybe come back for more questions when I get there. Thanks for all your help!

Oh Tamara - I am so sorry - that sounds like a tough situation! :( I have prayed for your safety, and that you will be able to get home soon. We have our fair share of that kind of icy weather here in SD - and I know that is not fun! :? May God give you protection and stability through the night. And as far as your dd - you do whatever you think is best - we're all just giving ideas here - I do think you'd be happy with Bigger, and it will probably be a smoother transition from Beyond to Bigger - but you know best!!! :D God bless!

Tamara,

I feel for you!! That was us last year...for 8 days the week before Christmas!! :( It is tough! I've been especially praying for those with livestock to care for, too, as they can lose their whole livlihood if they can't care for them. We were so thankful to have a generator so that we could still milk the cows and operate the well! (Not at the same time, of course. We actually couldn't run anything else for the 16 hours it took to milk the cows and cool the milk, but there were some dairies in our area that lost everything because they couldn't get a generator to milk their cows. :( ) I'm adding you to my prayers right now, too. In Arkansas, the weather should warm soon, right? That at least should speed the clean up for you! I hope you're back to normal soon!
