OT..prayer request

I just wanted to update everyone on my pregnancy, and ask for prayer throughout the last weeks. It turns out that I have developed Gestational Diabetes with this pregnancy. I was never diagnosed with this in my previous pregnancies, but we suspect I may have developed it later in my pregnancy with my last since he was SO BIG. I have been on an 1800-calorie 'diet' since January 9th, and my blood sugar numbers have been very good. I have to check my numbers 4 times a day, watch my carb. intake (no juice and only 2 fruits per day), and report to the nurse 1 time a week with my numbers. My doctor was pleased with my progress so far when I saw him last week. My prayer request is just that you all will keep me in your prayers...that I will continue to do well with controlling my eating (both calories and content) and that my numbers will continue to look good. Also, that God will give me and the doctors wisdom in deciding what type of delivery I should have. My last child had a traumatic birth with shoulder dystocia and we really want to avoid that this time, if possible. However, with GB babies are often larger. I am trusting that God can and will take care of both of us no matter what type of delivery we have...but I am still fearful at times. I'm not sure if I should elect for a c-section or try to have a vaginal delivery...all my others were the latter. Anyway, just general prayers that God will give me peace and the doctors wisdom in the next weeks. I know there are already many praying for me, and I thought more prayers could only help. Oh I am so sorry. I will definitely be in prayer for you. Praying for God to be in control of your health and the health of your baby, for Him to give you self control that comes easily and for their to be wisdom around the delivery and protection for you and your baby. Take good care of yourself and please keep us updated. I will be praying!

I'll be praying for you, too, Wendy! You're getting close to having that baby...which I'm sure is great news with the GD, and a little scary with the questions about the delivery. Praying that the Lord will keep you both healthy and give you wisdom for your decisions.

I'll pray for you too, Wendy! I know how scary pregnancies filled with medical issues can be, as I've had 6 of them. I've found that there comes a time in every pregnancy when I can no longer reason or figure out any way for it all to come out right and that is when the Lord has always taken over.

It's in that moment that I feel closest to Him and know that He has the plan, and I just have to rely on Him. It's a relief when that moment comes and peace floods over me knowing He's in control. I pray the Lord's continued presence in your pregnancy and His perfect peace for your medical concerns.
