Question about Storytime

Hi everyone! I have a question that pertains to the Storytime sections (as in Beyond and Bigger). If I decide to use DITHOR, do I still do Storytime? Isn't it basically the same thing, learning about different genres of books? Should I just do one or do both? I'm confused! LOL!!

PS. We started Beyond last year, but tried something else. I am dropping the "something else", and considering finishing Beyond this year, and moving onto Bigger this fall. But I have not tried DITHOR yet, but *love* the idea of it, and am seriously considering purchasing it.

I'm not in Beyond or Bigger yet but you would still do Storytime because you are reading to your children versus them reading books on their own in DITHOR.

You still do both. For example we are doing Biography in storytime and reading about Amelia Earhart, which I read to her. Fun and interesting, but when it came to DITHOR, I allowed dd the chance to decide for herself which genre to begin with. She chose Adventure, so that it's different from storytime, and in that, she reads to me (or sometimes independently as she's a strong reader). And DITHOR is broken down so you could easily chose any genre to start with. I was a little confused at first because you can chose to only use one book for the entire 15 days of the genre, or up to 3. If you use more than one, you don't go back and begin the lessons again, you just keep moving on the daily schedule with whatever book you happen to be in. So far I love it!
