Hello Ladies,
I am so happy to be back! Happy New Year!! I took off the whole month of December for our vacation. Turns out we had quite a rough time with all the kids being sick! The first 2 weeks were fun with making snowflakes & home made ornaments. Then my oldest dd got sick & it lasted a few days then she was fine & no one else seemed to catch it. then my dh took them ice skating. 1 man & 3 dc who don't know how to ice skate! My 8dd was doing well when, boom! she fell & fractured her ankle on the growth plate. She still has it in a boot cast & gets it checked on Thursday. Well, 2 days after she fell, she started to get a severe sore throat & then a horrible cough....she couldn't even talk or eat for awhile. She got antibiotics but it spread to my 4ds who needed antibiotics & nebulizer treatments & he actually goes tomorrow to a recheck cause he was wheezing on his last check up. Thankfully, the baby just had a slight cough & runny/stuffy nose. although she lost her appetite & nursed a lot. Then, my oldest got the cough & cold part. Then my dh & I finally got it & I am just now starting to feel better but my throat & sinuses are dry. So, we had a nice quiet Christmas with us trying to re cooperate! I bet I wouldn't have gotten sick if I didn't eat so much pie & cookies that we had! I have been taking lots of vitamins & the sugar overload really wasn't smart of me
Tomorrow is our first day back at school & I am very happy! I really missed HOD. Even my school phobic 11dd told me she was looking forward to doing HOD because she likes it.

That is a first!!
Sorry for the long ramble...I needed to share!!!!
looking forward to catching up with everyone!!!

Georgette,
Wow, it sounds like you and your family have certainly been through a lot! Great to hear everyone is on the mend and that you can get back to doing what you enjoy doing.

Georgette,
I am so sorry you guys have been so sick. Hope you are all doing better now. I know how much that can weigh on you. Glad you are back! We are back today from a long break as well. It feels good to be back and back in the groove of HOD. Great to see you back!

Georgette,
I know what you mean about looking forward to returning to the routine of school. We took 2 weeks off for Christmas, and today was our first day back. It was a relief to get back into the routine and all went well. We had the whole cold/flu/sinus thing at our house too this past couple of weeks. I am the last one to be getting over it, so it has been slow going. I can emphathize with you!

We were blessed with a very healthy year this year overall, so my hubby and I knew it couldn't go on like that forever. God takes very good care of us by keeping us well in the crunch times! PTL!
We'll hope you'll all feel better soon.
Blessings,
Carrie

We're mending too, so I'm celebrating that with you today! Plus, the sun is shining, which in the dead of winter in South Dakota is always a welcome thing!
Blessings,

I'm so glad you and your dc had a good day, Georgette!

We've had colds too, but we haven't had a turn with the flu yet - praise the Lord! I'm sure our "turn" is coming at some point though. We took several weeks off around Christmas too, and it felt so good to be back to "normal" today. I love HOD too, and our dc were glad to get back to it! It's funny how I got more done today than I did when we took the time off. I think the kids are so used to their school routine (and me too

), that we sort of drift through our days off. I hope you continue to feel better and better healthwise!
In Christ,
Julie
P.S. I am very impressed you took the time to email me some awesome pics for the photobook in the midst of all of the flu bug! That was so very thoughtful and kind of you. Thanks!

Thanks, Julie. I don't think it was the flu bug. No fevers. The kids are doing great now. Like Carrie, I am the last one to be getting over it....my dh too. I am a firm believer in whole food supplements & have seen them work great for us. So, you might try taking them to boost your immunity. They do get pricey with all of us taking them & we were all out of them for 2 weeks prior to us getting sick so it pays to keep the house stocked. Easier said then done!
