SOOOO thankful for HOD!!!!

Post by tiffanieh » Fri Dec 12, 2008 1:07 pm

As many of you know this is my first year homeschooling and while I never in a million years thought I would be a homeschool mom, NOW I can't imagine NOT being a homeschool mom. I am absolutely positively sold without a shadow of any doubt no waivering here LOVING homeschooling.

And I also absolutely know it's BECAUSE of Hearts of Dakota. The Lord brought me the long way around to get here, but I'm so glad that I kept listening to Him, pushing thru all the other curriculum choices out there...always feeling they weren't perfect for us. Once I stumbled across this website I knew this was the place for us to call home.

It's amazing that while I'm training and raising up Godly boys to one day become Godly men thru the truly Christ centered curriculum offered here, my own spiritual growth has exponentially grown as well. I am learning the bible, pouring scripture into not only my children but my own soul as well. I am learning timelines and geneologies that were always so overwhelming and confusing before.

Our school day is always fun and I have NOT once waivered over our joy with HOD. Everyday has become so special to me. Where I once looked forward to our days "out", now I hesitate to make any plans that may interrupt our normal school day routine. I'm concerned over my dread of summer approaching...I don't want that long of a break! :) We just may very well school year round!!!

I have many homeschool mom friends...not one has ever heard of HOD (Which by the way, Carrie, you NEED to come to the Orlando FPEA Conference!!!!! It's HUGE!) yet so many of them are having burn out struggles already in the school year and are struggling with their kids enthusiasm towards school. I had one mom call me just today to see if she could come over next week to review my HOD stuff because she could see my enthusiasm over school and the curriculum we chose and she wanted to have the same joy schooling her own kids! I can't wait to share with her...

Anyways...Carrie...I just say all this to say that while I know you have to KNOW with all the women that are constantly praising your name and what you do here, I truly can't thank you enough for all your hard work. When you got that "itch" that "call" from the Lord to design this curriculum, although you don't know me from Adam...you were doing this for me! God brought you to this work so that He could bring me to this place! Isn't that an awesome thought???

I am so thankful for this curriculum and everything it stands for. It is so perfectly designed for our family. My children are thriving and growing in their walk with the Lord and their education couldn't be more perfect!

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!

Yours truly,
Tiffanie

Tiffanie,

What a wonderful post singing the praises of HOD! Thank you for sharing your thoughts, I really enjoyed reading your post.

Your enthusiasm and praise for HOD is something I can really relate to. It is such a peaceful and satisfying feeling to have found Hod, it is simply a perfect fit! I feel that HOD, in addition to being a rock-solid academic curriculum, is a wonderful way to teach our children to live and behave in a godly way. HOD just makes me feel so centered when it comes to teaching my daughter (and her sister someday as well!) about God, and it also brings so much purpose to our daily lives. I have always felt that beginning each new lesson in the guide is like unwrapping a gift for Christmas! It's no wonder we feel out of sorts when "school time" is on break!

tiffanieh,

Thank you so much for taking the time to post this very heartfelt thread! I was all teared-up just reading it, and I'm not one to cry easily.

Your words were SUCH a blessing to me today, and I give all the credit for anything we do to the Lord. Without Him, there would be no reason for HOD. So, we're glorifying the Lord today, along with you! We're thrilled that you are enjoying your homeschool journey with HOD and pray you'll have many years of joy on your journey. :D

Blessings,
Carrie

Tiffanie - HOD has been a super fit for us too, and I'm so glad that you are LOVING your homeschool days! Burnout is a very real problem in homeschooling. It is dangerous to reach that stage. HOD helps prevent that, and I know Carrie writes with "anti-burnout-protection" in mind. :D One of HOD's goals is to equip families to homeschool for the long haul, until the very end - and not only that - but to homeschool happily! Your post is a testimony to that consideration. Thank you so much for what you've had to say here - it is a blessing to be blessed, and then bless others in turn by sharing that blessing :D ! Thank you also for sharing HOD with others around you.

In Christ,
Julie :)
