Intro hello and a question

Post by Melissa H. in GA » Tue Jan 29, 2008 7:38 pm

Hello,

Well, I finally did it. I ordered Beyond and received an e-mail from RR today that it is on it's way. I'm very excited about this program and can't wait to actually have it in my hands!!!! :D

I do have a question, though. We're already using Bible Study Guide for all Ages and my son really likes it. I also have several devotionals that he doesn't care for. Should I order Morning Bells? Can someone who has used it tell me a little about it? We want to continue with BSGFAA.

Thanks for listening and hope to get to know you all.

Welcome! I am in your state. 8) I also do a separate Bible Study with my kids. We are reading the Bible chronologically and have a pretty in depth study that we do each morning before we start HOD. I have found one thing and honestly it has been a shock me really because we already have a pretty thorough study going, the Bible in the program is actually deepening our study and kind of broadening our focus. I am glad we kept what we are doing but I also love doing what are in the programs. I think you would find it would be something that would end up just broadening what you are doing already but kind of connect it to the rest of the program. We are loving the Bible in HOD as something more for our school but also love that we can keep what we have been doing. I hope that makes sense and helps. :)

Hi and welcome to the boards.
We are doing Beyond, although we are only in Unit 7 so far. We use Morning Bells and my 7yo son likes it. It was written in 1875 so sometimes the language is a little bit different than today's but the message comes across well. Even if you do a different study on your own, it is worth doing as she speaks to the kid's hearts well. And I understand that in Bigger, the followup book to Morning Bells is used, so if you get used to it now, you be that much more prepared for Little Pillows when you get to Bigger.

Hi Melissa!
We also really like BSGFAA. I used it with my kids at home until we started using it at church, and now they just use it there. I think it would be great to just keep using it along with the Bible in Beyond. Both are very simple to implement and quick so it wouldn't add much to your day. Extra Bible study is never a bad thing! :D

Also, welcome to the HOD board and I hope you really enjoy Beyond...I can't wait to use it next year!

Melissa,

I just wanted to welcome you to the boards and to HOD! :D We pray that "Beyond..." may be a blessing to your family.

The ladies on the board did such a great job of answering your questions, so I won't add anything there! The moms on the board are so good at uplifting and encouraging one another. This is a wonderful place to meet and talk.

Blessings,
Carrie

Hi Ladies,

Thank you all for the advice and the welcome. I think I will go ahead and order the devotional.

I'm sure I'll be posting more once I receive my order.
