O.T. Prayer Request for today

Post by MamaMary » Tue Oct 07, 2008 5:36 am

Today is the big day. My dad is going in for his colostomy. He is in so much pain and they feel that this will relieve it. He is in such poor shape from all the chemo. (even though they've now stopped it) We had hoped that they would remove the cancerous part of his liver while in doing the colostomy but we got word yesterday that he is not well enough for both surgeries. I love how the Lord offers hope in the midst of what appears by the world's standards to be hopeless...,

1 Corinthians 15

19- And if our hope in Christ is only for this life, we are more to be pitied than anyone in the whole world.

22- Just as everyone dies because we all belong to Adam, everyone who belongs to Christ will be given a new life.

26- The last enemy to be destroyed is death.

40- The glory of our heavenly body is different from the glory of the earthly body.

42- Our earthly body is planted in the ground when we die, but they will be raised to live in glory. They are buried in weakness, but will be raised in strength.

44- They are buried as natural human bodies, but they will be raised as spiritual bodies.

46- What comes first is the natural body, then the spiritual body comes later.

50- What I am saying, dear brothers and sisters, is that our physical bodies cannot inherit what will last forever!

53- For our dying bodies must be transformed into bodies that will never die; our mortal bodies must be transformed into immortal bodies.

Mary, I will pray for your dad. This must be so hard to watch a man once robust and healthy struggle on a daily basis with cancer. My heart goes out to you. Let us know how the surgery goes.

Oh Girls     You are all so precious to me. My dad came through surgery with flying colors! Mom said, the doctor was surprised by how well he did that they are thinking of scheduling his cancer surgery in a few weeks. Thank you again for all your prayers :)

Yeah! I am so glad it went well. The human body is an amazing thing, but even more amazing is a person's determination to live. God's amazing. Let us know when he goes back in.
