Blubber lesson in Beyond

Just curious, for the discussion on blubber in Unit 1, Day 3 of Beyond...

Did anyone notice the water being colder on the hand without crisco? My son swears the crisco covered hand got colder than the clean hand...

When we did it my dd was amazed at how it wasn't as cold. She hated the cold icy water.

but then he might be feeling the greasy as cold instead...perhaps?
