Question about Storytime/Extension pack titles
I am looking through the Bigger manual marking which books I already have, and marking the ones I can get from the library. I am finding that the library has some (not all) of them but they are not necessarily the year suggested in the manual. Here's an example:
HOD suggestion
Tucker's Countryside by George Selden, 1989 Yearling
My library's selection
Tucker's Countryside by George Selden, 1929
Does it matter if it is an older version of the book? I want to be able to save money by utilizing our library, but I want it to match up with the manual. All help is appreciated.

Re: Question about Storytime/Extension pack titles
I'm pretty sure it won't matter. I have used older versions of books before with no problem. Our copy of By the Great Horn Spoon goes by a different name, the name was changed after the movie came out apparently. I did purchase a new copy of Egermeiers Story Book for my little girl because the yard sale one I got (1949) smells funny, the newer version has been revised by someone but the content is the same even if the wording is not. So I would say use what you can find, the version shouldn't matter.

If you get a book that smells all mildew-y, put a fabric softener sheet in it and place the book into a zip-lock bag and put into the freezer for a week. The smell will be gone. Would probably work for other 'funny' smells too.netpea wrote:because the yard sale one I got (1949) smells funny

Do you think that would work with the cat box?
Normally it doesn't smell, and my husband doesn't smell it, but I can smell it from where I sit on the couch and it makes me nauseous. Must be the pregnancy...

For a while EVERY time I (or anyone else in the house) opened the fridge, I would gag. It smelled AWFUL! I took out every single thing, cleaned it with bleach from top to bottom, inside every nook and cranny. Threw away anything that might have possibly been bad or about to go bad, and I thought it STILL smelled bad.

Re: Question about Storytime/Extension pack titles
Holyhart,
Ha, I knew it wasn't just me! I was doing so well, eating right, and now I have to force myself to eat. I haven't been sick, but I feel nauseous after I do, and I'm not that hungry, always have a bad taste in my mouth, etc. I don't remember it being like this with the others, but I'm sure it was. Hopefully in a few weeks I'll be past that stage. I've always loved being pregnant, and feeling the baby move, and everything; the 'out of sorts' part is less fun.
I keep looking at your baby ticker, noticing how close you are to your due date...it could be any day now. Can't wait to hear how everything goes. I'll keep you in my prayers.

Re: Question about Storytime/Extension pack titles
You'll be fine with the different copyright dates. Many of these books have been in and out of print several times. Often, the copyrights of various titles are resold to a different publisher, so the publishers may vary.... but, the text should be the same. Just make sure the author is the same!
Blessings,
Carrie
