OT: Crayola Write Start Colored Pencils

Post by jensmom » Wed Jul 23, 2008 10:36 am

Just have to share this with you all. I took Jen to the Crayola Factory in Easton, PA last week and we also visited the Crayola Store. I bought the Write Start colored pencils for her. According to Crayola, "The hexagonal shape and extra thick 5.3mm tips on Crayola Write Start® Colored Pencils make them easy for young children to use."

These are great for her Singapore Math activities plus much more. They are basically chubby colored pencils that have a nice fat tip and also color in easily. I highly recommend them for younger children but I also like them myself. :P

Peace,

What age are you using them for? They sound neat, and I'm in the middle of making my "list" for art supplies. :)

Jen is 6. I think they would be great for any child, younger or older. I even like them better than other colored pencils for myself...not that I use colored pencils very often...

My son will be 6 too, and I think it would be good for him to have his own set rather than to borrow big brothers. Thanks - these pencils have officially made it on the list!

and just to add to the discussion, Toys R Us has all crayola products this week buy one get two free!! Can't pass up a deal like that. Although, not sure if they have these pencils. Haven't made our trip there this week, will probably head there in the morning before picking up Delainey from church camp.

Thanks for the recommendation. :D I'm going to look for these and try them with my 5 year old. She has a hard time with writing-maybe this will help her. :)

The big chunky yellow pencil did wonders for helping my reluctant writer to write more. Maybe that would help? Or... maybe it was just the passage of time... that does seem to fix most things. :D

Hi,

I've had these colored pencils for a couple years now and they are great. Not sure if it's a national chain but I got mine at Office Depot.
