I couldn't wait any longer! So, we went ahead and have begun, and we have had so much fun this week!!! Now, I know first hand what all the fuss is about!

I absolutely love the fact that I know that I have covered everything with the kids and still have time to clean my house and get dinner on the table.
Check out my blog for more pictures and details of our week.

we've just completed our first week in beyond. it is really wonderful!! (not that i expected anything different.) we are all loving it! with our 3 month old, we're still totally without routine, which makes it hard to accomplish anything (at least for me), but we're slowly chipping away at it!

annegirl,
I'm so glad that you've had a good start! It will keep on getting better and better as you hit your stride!

Those new babes are SO precious, but they keep us on an ever-changing schedule for awhile, don't they!
Thanks for sharing!
Blessings,
Carrie

Yes, we are starting Unit 6! I had begun the year with "Bigger" and then switched down to "Beyond" as it was a better fit. I loved reading your week in review! Great blog pics

We did Unit 23 (LHFHG) last week and had so much fun learning about the Pilgrims. We read "The Pilgrims of Plymouth" as our supplementary history and even my 3 year old enjoyed it with us. We also read "Pochahontas", but that was not as much of a hit. My son had been asking to read more during school time so I started looking for books on the supplementary history list.
I think it hit home how long it took the "Mayflower" when we did the activity with the two sheets of paper. At first my older son started really neat putting the paper right in front of the other and than he started putting it as far as he could step. I got to explain that sometimes things just can not be rushed.
Please tell about the book a "Lion to Guard" us when you are finished. I just found it this past weekend at the Goodwill bookstore. We will start BLHFHG in November.
