Rod and Staff English placement question......
Which level of Rod and Staff English should I order for my 3rd grader? My 2nd grader will be fine with 2nd, but I think it may be too simple for my 3rd grader. He has completed FLL, most of PLL, and a little of FLL 3. Any thoughts? Thanks!

I'm going to go out on a limb here...I've never used either one, but here's what I would do...
Order both books, then look all the way through the 2nd grade book. If it looks like he has already covered everything, move on to the 3rd grade book. If you look through it, and come to a place and think, hey, I don't think we've covered that yet, then just start there. You don't have to start a book at the beginning....just where you think your son should start.
Hopefully someone who has actually used the books with chime in!

I was able to place mine very well by looking at the samples online in particular the table of contents. All my kids that read use R&S currently we use first, second, and fourth. And I actually currently have them in the entire program. You can go here to look at samples of R&S http://www.rodandstaffbooks.com/Rod_and ... urriculum/
Also just wanted to add I have third but have not quite started it yet. If you have any questions I can look for you

What a great idea-I didn't kow there was a website with samples of Rod and Staff My comments-my 3rd and 4th grader are using English 2 right now and it is quite thorough for them-of course, they never had "formal" English before...but looking at the samples should really be a great help to you.

I have t say though that I now order directly from R&S. The service is amazing. They are not on the internet. This is an unofficial distributor. I always call the company directly or if HOD carries it you can order there of course.

Allison,
The ladies were wonderful in answering your questions! Since I am familiar with the programs you mentioned I thought I'd pop in here with a comment too.
If you've already done all of First Language Lessons (which we also did with my first born) and Primary Language Lessons (which I own and have looked over extensively) and some of FLL 3, I think you would be correct to place your third grader in Rod and Staff English 3.
You can always take English 3 slowly if you want, but I think Rod and Staff 2 would be a review of what you've already spent your time teaching in those other programs. While Rod and Staff English is considered advanced, you have covered quite a bit of grammar in the early years already, so you'd be right on with English 3.
Hope that helps!
Blessings,
Carrie
