Hi, I have been making some long term plans for my dd who is nearly 15 but has substantial learning disabilities. We are still finishing off CTC and I have been wondering how we will finish CTC through MtMM before she officially finishes school. Upon closer examination I noticed that the scope and sequence states that Rev to Rev and MtMM are both 'American history within the context of world history'.
Do you think Rev to Rev and MtMM are still appropriate for non US homeschoolers (we are Australian)? I am really after a general world history but I feel that the high school World History will be too advanced for her. She really enjoys the style of HOD and the reading lists so I would like to stick with it if possible.

Resurrection to Reformation (RtR) would be history of the middle ages. CtC and RtR would be the time period covered in the high school WH guide. As for Revival to Revolution (RevtoRev), there is some world history in this. It definitely does have an American slant to it because it is focusing on the time period when the US was founded. It includes a US state study. But you could easily leave that part of out if you wanted too. It will definitely cover US history quite a bit but if you look at the introduction PDF, you can see that it also covers quite a bit of historical of things going on at the same time: http://www.heartofdakota.com/pdf/Rev2Re ... uction.pdf . Also, MtMM is going to be heavy on American history as well but again, if you look the table of contents and introduction PDF of this file, you can also see that it covers many things going on the world at the same time as well. http://www.heartofdakota.com/pdf/MTMM-toc-intro.pdf. So guess I would say that even though RevtoRev and MtMM do have quite a bit of US history in them, there is also a ton of world history studied at the same time.

I might even think about doing CTC through RevtoRev, then moving to WG to finish highschool. You would get great world history, and then the world geography/world religions and cultures. I wouldn't miss the WG for anything, having gone through it with my oldest last year. I can truly say that there has not been a more loving and accurate portrayal of God's people and his heart for His world.
