What a great way to start the year!

Today was our first day of the World History guide. My son always does Bible first, so after he and I prayed for the school year he started the Bible box and the first thing he was to do was listen to "Be Thou My Vision". Wow, what a great reminder of where our focus needs to be this year! It doesn't need to be on worrying about college, or testing or am I doing enough or any of the other things that go along with homeschooling high school. My vision needs to be on Him! My son and I decided that hymn will be our theme for the year. I have printed the words and will laminate it where we can see those verses whenever we get burnt out, overwhelmed or stressed.

I truly think it set a positive tone for the entire day, because the entire day went much better than I expected. Thanks Carrie for being so faithful to God and including things like hymns in your curriculum.

I will have to look that song up! I read a quote by Francis Chan yesterday that goes along with focusing.

Be Thou My Vision is my favorite hymn ever! I'm so glad it was meaningful for you as you start your year. The words are awesome and I pray they will be a blessing to you and your son as you focus on the truths spoken through them this year.

Beautiful reminder. I love that hymn too. That's reaching a child's heart for sure!
