Oh good! I'm so glad your dh is supportive, and you are headed toward a good year of homeschooling! As far as the RA's go, I'd follow the plans in the LHFHG for the remaining 2 Thorton Burgess books that you have not done first. Then, I'd finish out the year with your Beyond RA's and those follow-up skills. The following year, you can go through the Beyond RA skills again with the other book set. This will streamline the books you are needing this year, give some practice in the easier skills first, and give your kiddos 2 solid years of building reading comprehension, listening, and narration skills prior to beginning BHFHG.

I think you have a great plan coming together! I was just going to second the idea of finishing the last two Thornton Burgess books from LHFHG (following the questions from the LHFHG plans first) and then heading into the Beyond Storytime books after that (following the plans in the Storytime Box of Beyond for that).

The Boy Set of books from Beyond is easier than the Classic Set of books, so if you are including your 5 year old in those readings I would start with the Boy Set (even though your 5 year old is a girl). Even though I am a girl, I loved the boy books too. Your 5 year old will hang with the story time better if the books and reading sessions are shorter. Save the Classic Set for the following year when both your kiddos are a year older.
