Storytime fill-in-the-blanks
Storytime fill-in-the-blanks
For the portion of storytime in LHFHT where the child needs to fill in the blanks, it specifies for them to write on unlined paper. My son has difficulty sizing his letters appropriately, and I am wondering if it matters if I use "handwriting" paper. I only ask because it specifically says "unlined" so I don't want to miss it if there is good reason for this!

I can't really answer your question. I always wrote the stuff out for my dd on an unlined paper and then created a line for her to fill in. Her letter would sometimes look a little crazy But that was fine by me. You are having your child practice good handwriting else where. So either way, I think it is fine.

Using handwriting paper would be fine, I think. But as Nealewill said, it's not that the purpose of this assignment is neat handwriting. Whatever they do (as long as its readable) should be fine. So don't worry about it unless you think your child really cares.

Re: Storytime fill-in-the-blanks
With 2 of my daughters, who were not writing well enough yet to form all the letters on their own, I used to dot and have them trace their words. They could write their name, more or less, but remembering enough letters to write anything else was too hard for them at that point.
