I converted more HODies! rofl!

Post by 6timeboymom » Wed Jun 18, 2008 12:13 pm

I took my catalog (my ONLY copy...I'm in withdrawal...wonder if I should order another???) to my girlfriend's house. We had a really great discussion about school, our expectations, etc etc and I (of course) blabbered on and on how much we love HOD. So sunday when she came by my place, she said she ordered a LOT of HOD!!! woo hoo!! I told her I would waive her finder's fee this time. ROFL!!!
I don't know if she'll check out the forums or not-her computer time is fairly limited. If so I'll call her out for you guys!!

I've also started fielding a lot of PM's at another board I'm active on about HOD. it's really funny! I'm so not a salesman but when I feel strongly about something, apparently I can be convincing! :-)

Darci,

You're so funny! I am no salesman either! My husband would be apalled at my lack of sales technique, if he got a chance to really see me operate at the conventions.

Seriously though, it is moms like each of you whose opinions matter the most to other moms out there. That's why the board is so helpful. It allows moms a chance to hear from people just like them that are making HOD work for their families. That's far more important than anything I have to say! :D

So, hooray for each of you! You're very important people to us!

Blessings,
Carrie

Sounds great! I love to tell anyone who will listen about HOD! I'm actually in a large Charlotte Mason group. I was recently able to share online about the programs because someone asked a question on our yahoo group about it. I was so excited because I had been wanting to share but waiting for the right time. I hope to go to the meeting in Aug. or Sept. and take my catalog. The ladies there would love it. But, I'll have to see if this baby will agree, since I think the next meeting probably won't be until Sept. and that's when I'm due! :D

I haven't even started it yet and already I'm signing it's praises! I have given my friend who has two 3 (almost 4) year olds the catalog (a little begrudgingly :? ) and she is interested in starting the LHTH with the girls!

She used to be a first grade teacher so I was excited to get her stamp of approval! :D

I made my first convert! :D

My friend whom I gave the catalog to, decided to go with the LHTH for her two 4 yr olds (one is her dd and the other is a girl she has been watching since she was only a yr. old).

same here. I know there isn't any perfect curriculum, but I'm so excited that my children can get the kind of education that I want them to without me having to pull my hair out with planning. I love the fact that Carrie was a teacher in ps. I'm not a fan of ps at all, but for some reason, that gives HOD some credibility for people that I talk to (like my mom!)

Recently, I was with a friend who has always been a huge influence on me. She is so together and always gets so much done. So, for years I've done everything schoolwise the same as her. Her influence (not to mention my love of good books) is why I stuck to Sonlight for 3 years. I kept telling myself that if I just got more organized or more focused or spent more time planning that I could make it work for me. Hmph!

When I told my friend about HOD she sorta balked and said it would be too hard to not combine all of my kids. Before HOD, I would have said "yes" and changed my mind right there. But, now I can say with confidence that doing more than one program is beneficial to me kids and can easily be done (or so I've heard.)

Anyway, thanks Carrie for giving me hope for the new year and confidence too.

This just happened to me too!

I had shared about HOD when I first found it at my Homeschool Mom's group (and no one had heard of it before, I found it from Cathy Duffy's Reviews). Now two moms are considering it seriously and another not in the group, is looking at it as well (mutual friend). Awesome. Everyone who sees it just loves it!

I think this curriculum is just going to continue to gain momentum in popularity until it is WIDELY KNOWN and loved.

My friend came over to look at my books (LHTH) even though she is considering other levels for her family. I looked again online at the other guides with her (and yes, gave her my catalog) and I started getting excited all over again about where we are going (the next few guides) I can hardly wait to get there! My husband came in and heard us talking and later said to me "Thanks for finding this great curriculum for our children." I said "Thanks to GOD for leading us here." When I saw it, I knew, like many others, THIS is an answer to prayer.

Carrie, we appreciate you (and your helpers) SO MUCH. Your work is blessing thousands. May you receive your due reward!

Oh ladies! :D

What a wonderful thread! It is just what I needed to hear today as my sweet sister and I are in the end run for Preparing!

We are so excited about the new book and really ready to have it off to press! Wednesday A.M. is the day it goes, if all goes well!

You are all such a blessing to us. We trust and pray for the Lord to bring those to HOD who need it and may be blessed by it, and we couldn't ask for a better group of ladies than all of you who were hand-picked by the Lord! :D

Blessings,
Carrie

I just have to add that my excitement is growing as we near our time to start Bigger...! We've been blessed by this curriculum, and I look so forward to learning more right along with my children. I feel like we've finally found the 'fit' for our family. Thanks Mike and Carrie (and boys)!
