High School Guides written in order?
High School Guides written in order?
Are the High School guides written like the middle guides where there is a progression of skills? If so, are the skill jumps pretty big? For example, if a state doesn't require World Geography, could a 9th grader start with World History (jumping in from MMtM)? Or, could a child move to the World History guide before coming back to the WG guide?

The high school guides are written like the middle school guides in that they are progressive in skill-level with one guide preparing students well for the next guide in line. The jump from MTMM to World History would be a large one. Even if your state doesn't require World Geography, it is a hugely helpful course to have prior to World History as it gives perspective to all of the places that the students will encounter in their future coursework. Additionally, the only way we'd recommend World History Guide for a 9th grader would be if the student had done World Geography in grade 8, MTMM in grade 7, and Rev2Rev in grade 6, and so on. If a student has come up through HOD on the youngest age range of our guides consistently, then that child would reach the World History Guide as a 9th grader but that child would also be prepared skill-wise with the consistent progression of skills needed for the World History Guide.
For those who are new to HOD after already beginning in high school, we have to look at the placement chart, ponder what credits they have accomplished thus far, think about what is still needed, and then make a plan of how to gain needed credits while still meeting the student's skill-level.

This response is very helpful. It is difficult to tell by the reading list if there is a significant increase in difficulty.
