Our 7yo and I were just finishing Unit 13 today and discussing the meaning of the memory verse for this unit:
Matthew 5:16
"You are the light of the world. Let your light shine before men so they may see your good deeds and praise your Father who is in heaven."
We discussed that a box with holes won't shine unless it has a light put into it and that we can't shine with Christ's love unless we have Jesus in our heart. After some more discussion
he decided to ask Jesus into his heart! What a blessing and a wonderful day! Should have seen his face when I told him that the angels were rejoicing in heaven!
Now he's even given his testimony three times as he told his Dad and Grandmas.

(one more later when Papa gets home

)
So thankful for such a scripture-based curriculum where we discuss God's truths each day!
Thank you Carrie!
Feeling blessed,
Rice

That is wonderful!!!! I feel like my son and I have had quite a few deep conversations this year doing Bigger because of the Little Pillows book, the character discussions and devotions. He also accepted Jesus into his heart earlier this year because of this same reason. I also love that this curriculum is so Biblical based and creates such a smooth atmosphere to teach our children Biblical truths that ultimately lead to salvation.

For sure, Daneale! We came from another Biblically-based curriculum but it still didn't have us reading and discussing scripture daily like HOD.
We wrote today on the calendar so each year we can remember his "Jesus birthday".
Blessings,
Rice

Rice,
Thanks so much for taking time to share this moment that echoes for eternity with all of us! Homeschooling with Christ at the center is about providing opportunities for kiddos to hear Christ speak to their heart! I know Christ can speak to anyone, anywhere, yet I am always blessed with an outpouring of joy when I think that by directing children to the Word of God daily, HOD has a part to play in children yearning to know the Lord beter.
We're celebrating your joy with you today.
Blessings,
Carrie

Thanks, Carrie! Feeling blessed in so many ways, especially to know that our oldest four have all accepted Him, and now will have the input in their lives daily to keep their focus on His worldview as they learn about the world. Thanks for your part in that!
Blessings,
Rice

What a wonderful day!

I am praising the Lord along with you and your family today! As parents we have the high calling of...
Deuteronomy 6:6-8...
6 These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. 7 Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. 8 Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads.
I feel that HOD helps us do this in the day in and day out of parenting and homeschooling, and I think God blesses that. I am so happy for you and for your sweet son! May he continue to be a light and share his testimony with others!

Praise God!
In Christ,
Julie
