Introducing...

Post by Samuel'sMommy » Tue Oct 07, 2014 8:58 pm

So I have been a little busy the past few days....we have a new son, Isaiah Seth. He was born on Sept. 30th weighing 5 lbs 10 oz. He is 18 inches long. We have been had our adoptive home study approved and have been waiting for the past 2 years. We found out at the beginning of September that a birthmother had chosen us. We met with her briefly and had planned to meet with her again this week. Surprise...we got a phone call on Tuesday that he had been born. Because he was premature and had some other health issues he had to stay in the NICU for a week, but we got to bring him home today. Big brother Samuel is super excited!

CONGRATULATIONS! :D :D :D What a beautiful, beautiful baby, and a handsome beaming big brother! :D I know the NICU can be a tough start, but I just wanted to encourage you that two of our dc spent quite a lot of time in the NICU (Wyatt - 3 1/2 weeks, and Emmett - over a month), and they are both healthy and thriving today! God bless you and your family, and thank you for sharing your precious little one with us here!!! :D

I wish there was a "Like" button! Nothing more precious than a newborn baby! :D

You may not have given birth to him physically but take it easy on yourself in the coming months! Sleep deprivation and adjusting to being a family of 4 are stressors enough. Keeping routine is good but relaxing expectations (on book work and house work!) will pay off in the long run. Learning about babies and life as family grows is all part of big brother's education, too!

May you be truly and wonderfully blessed by your new addition!
Blessings,
Rice

Awww so sweet! Congratulations to you and prayers as all of you adjust to the changes in your family (and little Isaiah adjusts to life on the outside).

Stephanie,

Congratulations! I was on here a few weeks ago and read that you had a new baby. I had forgotten until this thread popped up this morning. Isaiah is adorable and Samuel looks very happy. :D Angie thinks he is adorable too. She loves babies and, after seeing these pictures, she was saying, "Can we adopt? Can we adopt?" Our biological dc are much older than her, so she has always desired to have a younger sibling. I think she'll have to wait for her own. We are very happy for your family. Isaiah is definitely a special blessing from God. :D :D

I hope to be back here on a regular basis again. I anticipate putting Angie back in BHFHG, possibly in January. Maybe going back and completing Bigger will keep us on a more consistent path with HOD. Looking forward to seeing more pictures. :)

Thanks everyone! Isaiah turned 1 month old yesterday and we are starting to settle into a routine. I'm still trying to figure out how to fit in our school work on a consistent basis. It's just been Samuel and I for over 9 years and we had a pretty good groove going with school. We were able to start and work diligently and not have to worry about any interruptions to our day and able to get done in about 3 hours. Now, because of being up in the night, I am sleeping in more and we aren't getting school started until later in the day, add in feedings, and normal infant care, plus all the extras we are involved in at our co-op and church and our day just feels really choppy. I know as Isaiah settles in to more of a schedule and waking up less at night it will get easier. But for now, I just feel like I'm not doing a very good job at this whole homeschooling mom of 2 thing.
