How long does World Geography take....

Post by kidsforHim » Wed Sep 03, 2014 3:58 pm

About how long would you say the geography boxes take, not counting living library box. Also, what has your experience been with Mapping the World with Art?
Thanks,
Becky

If you go to this page, you can find Carrie and Julie's schedules for WG. Carrie posted her's at the end of the year, and Julie's I think is more middle of the year. Normally at the very beginning, things take longer, so I would probably account for that.

We are in our 3rd week using the WG guide and seem to be pretty consistent in our times now. So you want to know just the World Geography boxes, not the rest of the guide? Those take probably 45-50 minutes on non-written narration days and longer on written narration days, but my ds is pretty slow with his written narrations. The World Religions and Cultures takes around 25-30 minutes. My ds does the entire day in 7 hours with an hour for lunch so only about 6 hours of work and that includes me reading the Living Library to him which takes at least 30-40 minutes. We have only done a few lessons from Mapping the World with Art, but I read the entire book this summer and I like the readings. They are short and supplement the other readings very well. My ds enjoyed his first map drawing and I know he will enjoy the games and activities that are scheduled throughout the year. They will provide a nice break from all the rigors of the rest of the work load.

Thanks! Yes, that's what I was wanting, just the geography. Have been looking at it for my son. We've already started a different path in the other subjects.
