Hello!
We have used HOD for several years. I have saved teacher's manuals and sets together for two reasons. One, the manual serves as a record of our work. Two, I was saving for my younger son. However, he has special needs and this curriculum won't work for him. The books are taking up a lot of space on our shelves and I would love to sell them. **The question is- How do I keep a record of all our work?*** I really do not desire to write all this down! What methods, tips, short cuts or wisdom can you share from your experience? Do you use a specific method or planner to simplify record keeping of daily work? Thank you in advance for ANY help!!!!

Re: Record keeping
What kinds of records do you want to keep? You could always print off the introduction for each guide, and then just note when you finished each unit on that. That would give you the lists of what books, etc where used and unit titles at least.

Re: Record keeping
How detailed of records do you need for your state? You could just keep the teacher's guides in a box somewhere in case you need to refer back to them and then get rid of the other books (can you stand to? I will keep many many of mine even once I no longer need them to school my children because they are great books!) I think that's what I would do.

Re: Record keeping
I would also gage your records keeping level based on your states requirements. For my state, I am only required to have testing completed or an independent teacher evaluation. So that are the only "records" I am required to keep. And realistically, I only need to keep the most current.
If you wanted it for your personal records, I agree with others about making a copy of the introduction. If you kept that and a copy of the catalog, you would have a record of the books and items learned each week.

Re: Record keeping
I would at the very least keep the guides, as they are the easiest and best record of what you have taught. I don't think I could part with the books either! (My kids wouldn't let me!)bmom wrote:Hello!
